WHAT's the deal with Bloody Mary's?

Rodgers and Hammerstein's original Broadway production of SOUTH PACIFIC opened in 1949 and is based on James A. Michener's Pulitzer Prize-winning book Tales of the South Pacific. The plot centers on parallel love stories on an island in the South Pacific during WWII.

One civilian woman on the island, is the sassy and bawdy Bloody Mary, who keeps the sailors on their toes as she tries to sell them her wares. Originally played by Juanita Hall, the Theatre Lawrence production stars local talent, Heidi Rios, in the role.
