Showstoppers! Middle School Performance Troupe 

Ages: 5th - 8th grade 

Auditions: Tuesday, September 8, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. Bring a prepared song to sing.

Dates: Tuesdays starting Oct. 6 thru December 1 (No class November 21 & 28) 

Times: 6:30 pm -8:30pm 

Performances: October 31 and December 5 at 10:00 AM

Description: Showstoppers is Theatre Lawrence's youth performance company. Showstoppers is looking for actors with imagination, enthusiasm, and a love of performing! Over the course of 8 weeks, students will work together using their creativity and collaboration skills to create two performances for young audiences. This company may also perform at optional events throughout the community as a representative of Theatre Lawrence.

 The Wizard of Oz Youth Audition Workshop 

Ages: Students in grades 3-8 

Date: Sunday, September 13 

Time: 3:00 pm- 4:30 pm 

Cost: Free- registration required 

Description: Thinking about auditioning for Theatre Lawrence's holiday production of The Wizard of Oz? Join us for this FREE audition workshop. Participants will learn what to expect at auditions, receive tips on how to prepare, and work with Lauren Thiessen on the vocal audition selections. Student will also learn part of the audition dance combination to help them feel confident and ready for audition day. Parents, we aren't leaving you out either. While the kids are in one room, we will talk with parents in another room to go over all the rehearsal schedule and what is expected of the youth cast in the show. 

This workshop is FREE to attend, but registration is required.

Shrek JR.- Winter Musical for Middle School Actors Grades 6–8

Once upon a time, there was a little ogre who dreamed of a quiet life in his swamp—but everything changes when a colorful cast of fairy-tale characters comes crashing into his world! Shrek JR. is a hilarious and heartwarming musical adventure filled with big laughs, memorable characters, catchy music, and an important message about friendship, acceptance, and being true to yourself.

This production is designed specifically for students in grades 6–8, giving young actors the opportunity to develop their performance skills while working together as an ensemble to bring this beloved story to life. Students will rehearse twice a week with directors Emily Giles and Lauren Thiessen, culminating in two exciting public performances.
