Get Involved

On stage, back stage, away from the stage - lots of ways to get involved

There are many ways to get involved at Theatre Lawrence

  • Audition for one of our productions.
  • Help in the scene shop, costumes, props, and more.
  • Volunteer to help in box office.
  • Help out back stage as run crew, or in the light and sound booths.
  • Usher or work in the bar during a show.
  • Join us to help with special events.
  • Serve on a committee.

In addition to helping make Lawrence a better place for us all to live and "play" who knows you may even make a new friend!

Why volunteer at Theatre Lawrence?

Rob Claassen

Our 2024 & 2025 Volunteer of the Year! What Rob most enjoys about volunteering is meeting new people and watching the sets come together.

“I felt welcomed and appreciated from the start. I doubt that I will ever try out for a role on stage, but as a part of the running crew or tech crew …I can help create something good for the community and it feels great/makes me happy.”

Piper Northrop

“For me, it’s the community. Volunteering at TL has introduced me to so many people with fascinating stories and unique views on life. Through those connections, I’ve built friendships and found mentors who have helped me grow not just as a technician but as a person. Being part of this community has deepened my love of theatre and confirmed my plans to continue with it in college.”
