Character Descriptions

The Addams Household

  • Gomez Addams | Age: 35–55 | Baritone, Bass (Bb2 - G4)
The suave patriarch who lives to adore his wife and children. He finds himself in a comedic crisis—trapped between his loyalty to Morticia and his devotion to Wednesday. Must have sharp comedic timing, move well, and ideally possess fencing skills.
  • Morticia Addams | Age: 35–50 | Mezzo-Soprano, Alto (G3 - Bb5)
The elegant, "leggy" center of the Addams universe. She is a dry-witted powerhouse who suspects her husband is keeping secrets. This role requires a strong dancer with an effortless, sophisticated comedic presence.
  • Uncle Fester | Age: 30–50 | Baritone preferred, Tenor (C3 – G4, optional C5)
Our eccentric, vaudevillian narrator. He is child-like, immensely enthusiastic, and totally incorrigible. Needs a performer with high energy and a strong tenor belt.
  • Wednesday Addams | Age: 18–25 (to play 18) | Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano (A3 - E5)
The ultimate goth princess, now grown up and falling in love. She is witty and dry, desperate for her family to act "normal" for one night. Seeking actresses with a powerhouse pop voice.
  • Pugsley Addams | Age: (plays 12) | High tenor (A3 – F5) A charming, boy or non binary individual who views his sister’s torture as a love language. He’ll do anything to keep Wednesday from leaving him for a boy. Must be under 5'0" with a strong, high unchanged voice.
  • Grandma | Age: 35+ (to play 102) | Soprano (G4 – F5)
A quirky, feisty centenarian. She’s fun and unpredictable, but not to be trifled with. Requires a strong comedic actress with grit in her vocals.
  • Lurch | Age: 25–50 | Mostly grunting, bass preferred
The towering, slow-moving butler (6'1" or taller). He communicates through irony-tinged groans and very few words. Needs a true, resonant low bass voice.

The Beinecke Family

  • Mal Beinecke | Age: 40–55 |Tenor (C3 – A4)
A stuffy, exasperated father from Ohio who is bewildered by the Addams’ lifestyle. He is firmly against his son joining this "strange" family.
  • Alice Beinecke | Age: 40–50 | Soprano (Ab3 – G#5)
A mousy housewife who speaks in rhymes and suppresses her own desires—until a "dinner party potion" forces her to reveal her wild, honest truth. Requires a very strong comedic singer.
  • Lucas Beinecke | Age: 18–25 (to play 19) | Tenor preferred, Baritone (C3 – C5)
The attractive, hopeful fiancé of Wednesday Addams. He is caught in the crossfire between his "normal" upbringing and the macabre world of his future in-laws.

The Ancestors

  • The Ancestors | Age: 20+ | SATB Harmonies
A choir of ghosts representing various historical archetypes. These performers must be strong contemporary singer-dancers who can handle tight harmonies. Flamenco or Tango experience is a major asset.
