HELP WANTED - The Wizard of Oz
Help us travel down the Yellow Brick Road!

Help Wanted!
The Wizard of Oz is a magical show that will have our audiences enthralled. It will be a giant undertaking and we will need a small army of volunteers to make the magic happen. As always, there will be a need for stage hands, lightboard operators, sound techs, follow spot operators, prop craftspeople, set construction, painters and more.
Costuming this show will be especially challenging and will require special talents and unique volunteer positions.
Among them are:
Make up: In addition to main characters requiring special effects makeup (Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and the Wicked Witch) there will be numerous ensemble roles that will require special makeup beginning with crows (5), trees (5) Munchkins (15), Witches Guard aka Winkies (8) and Flying Monkeys (6). Most characters will need to change their makeup at some point during the production. Tasks may include designing individual characters, testing designs, instructing actors, instructing makeup crew members, applying makeup for performances, removing and applying now makeup for second character.
Hair and Wigs: Auntie Em/Glinda, Miss Gulch/Witch, misc Munchkins, misc Emerald City Citizens
Shopper: The ensemble players will need multiples of several items such as turtlenecks, tights, shoes etc. The shopper will be charged with ordering the items the designer designates, ensuring everything arrives, fitting ensemble members and reordering if necessary.
Craftspeople: Some of the ensemble pieces will need embellishing with things such as poppies, snowflakes, iron on appliques, glued trimmings etc. These volunteers DO NOT NEED sewing skills.
Milliner: Develop patterns for and build hats including Glinda, Wicked Witch, Scarecrow, Winkie Guards, Munchkins, Emerald City Citizens. This may include repurposing hats from our stock.
Stitchers: Assemble garments that have been cut and marked, some of which will be from existing commercial patterns with detailed directions, others will be original patterns and directions.
Wardrobe: Tasks for this position including pressing/steaming purchased items, labeling and organizing “ditty bags” (hanging bags with actor names and pockets for shoes, accessories, etc), maintaining costumes throughout the run of the show (laundering, deodorizing, spot cleaning, pressing, repairs)
Dressers: There will be a number of quick changes to manage throughout the show and will require the individual volunteer or a member of a team to be at every performance.
Munchkin Wrangler: Given the number of children we expect to cast, we will need people to wrangle the youngsters including helping with makeup and hair, dressing, costume changes, getting to the stage, supervising when they are not on stage. Subject to appropriate screening.
